The Villerest dam to the South of Roanne is located on the communes of Villerest and Commelle-Vernay.
The reservoir covers 1900 acres, is 32 kms long and borders 19 communes, from Balbigny upstream up to Villerest. Ideal for the family, Villerest beach offers many possibilities for enjoyment: play area, water activities, crazy golf courses, supervised bathing, etc. |

For sporty types, embark in Briennon or Bully for a trip on the river in a canoe. Water and jet skiing departure points, the port of Bully propose motor boat hire (without licence) and pedalos.
This unique natural and wild site is ideal site to fish in the Roanne area. |

Take a relaxing break with the many walking paths bordering the river. A special mention for the bird gravel pit and the Matel gravel pit, veritable havens of peace near Roanne. For sporty types, embark in Briennon for a trip on the river in a canoe. |
